About Ring Rescue

Ring Rescue provides the Ring Rescue Kit—trusted by hospitals, EMS, fire rescue and other professionals across the United States and Canada—for safe, efficient removal of stuck rings.

The Story Behind Ring Rescue

Ring Rescue was founded after a team of engineers and an emergency physician identified a gap in how ring entrapment and stuck ring removal were managed in clinical care.

What began as an engineering project at Dalhousie University grew into a mission to develop safer, more standardized solutions for ring removal in healthcare and emergency response settings.

The Problem

Ring entrapment is a common and potentially finger-threatening emergency, yet it is often managed with insufficient or improvised tools.

Despite the frequency of cases, there has historically been no standardized, medical-grade solution that could handle all ring metals.

The Ring Rescue Solution

Ring Rescue developed a two-part medical system designed to provide professionals with safe and effective options for stuck ring removal:

Compression Device (2018): Provides a non-destructive ring removal option by temporarily reducing finger swelling, helping professionals remove a stuck ring without cutting when preservation of the ring is appropriate.

Dolphin Ring Cutter® (2022): A dual-powered, medical-grade ring cutter designed to safely cut all ring metals, including titanium and tungsten. Its controlled cutting system helps professionals remove difficult stuck rings efficiently while limiting heat generation and reducing the risk of heat-related injury.

Together, these two medical devices form the Ring Rescue Kit, a comprehensive ring removal system that gives professionals both non-destructive and cutting-based options for managing a wide range of ring entrapment cases.

A Smarter Approach to Stuck Ring Removal

The Ring Rescue Kit is a purpose-built ring removal system for safely managing stuck and entrapped rings, trusted by 2,000+ healthcare and emergency response facilities across the United States and Canada.
